The focus for this camp is early season training volume, a hint of competition and some fun. Each day will involve swim, bike, run sessions, starting the day in the 25m pool, guided rides  and daily run options to complete the training.

Based at Sands Beach in Costa Teguise, The training venue is used by triathletes from beginners to professional triathletes & Ironman competitors as well as many International Teams.
With its strong winds and hills, Lanzarote is the perfect location for a training camp. Home to the famous Ironman Lanzarote, you can be sure the island will challenge you.
At Sands Beach Resort you will feel at home, but be surrounded by palm trees, swimming pools, the blue sky and pleasant temperatures! All the rooms are located a step away from the pool, private or public beach.

The cost of the camp including accommodation Breakfast and Evening meal is £485 per person (based on 2 people sharing), If you are coming on your own let me know and we can look to pair you up with another suitable, same sex athlete to share accommodation.

THERE ARE TWO OPTIONS FOR NEXT YEAR’S TRAINING CAMP’S

28th January – 4th February 2023
4th March – 11th March 2023

Join triathlon coach Ian Williams for one of his triathlon training camps in Lanzarote. Daily coached swim, bike and run catering for a mix of abilities, taking in the climbs and roads from those famous Lanzarote races. Ideal for those racing Ironman Lanzarote, Ocean-Lava, or Lanzarote 70.3; or for those looking to kickstart their season.
The cost for either the January or March 2023 camp is £465
The price will include half board accommodation (based on 2 athletes sharing a room at Sands Beach Resort along with all coaching and support throughout the camp.
The price does not include travel or insurance. Athletes will need to arrange their own.

Location

With its strong winds and hills, Lanzarote is the perfect location for a training camp. As home to the famous Ironman Lanzarote, you can be sure the island will challenge you.
March is a great time to train in Lanzarote, with an average temperature of 18C, little rain and generally lighter winds.
Sands Beach Resort in Costa Teguise will provide high quality half board accommodation for the week. The resort includes a 25m pool, trails for running and easy access to Lanzarote's cycling routes.

ITINERARY

The focus for the camp is early season training volume, a hint of competition and some fun. Each day will involve swim sessions in the 25m pool, guided rides around the island, including the Ironman course, with daily run options to complete the training.

Cycling will make up the majority of the training during the week. We'll also spend a lot of time in the pool working on fitness and technique. The run program is lighter in volume but makes up for it with some challenging sets.

Sessions will incorporate sections of the Ironman bike course and the Lanzarote 70.3 bike course, along with the infamous climb up Tabayesco.

ATHLETES

The camp is open to athletes of all abilities. While the program has been developed with Ironman and Half Ironman athletes in mind, the daily schedule is flexible and can be adapted to suit a range of needs.

To get the most from the camp athletes should be prepared to train every day, potentially pushing themselves a little further than before. There will be between 2 and 6 hours of training scheduled per day, although this can be adapted to suit individual needs.
